Wow! It's been a long time!

Well, let's see, since I last posted...
I've become a grandmother for the first time and I'm loving every second of it! He is the apple of my eye! He's 6 months old now and just the most precious lump of sugar ever!
And...
I am now the proud co-owner of a paint party studio, Wild Brush Studio in historic downtown McKinney, the best city to live in (Ok, actually it was voted in the top 5, but best to me!). I went in with two other MISD art teachers and we created it. We have a studio loft downtown complete with hardwoods, exposed brick, and tin ceilings, the perfect artist studio! www.wildbrushstudio.com
Here's a peek at our upcoming ad, the whole back cover of the Living Green Magazine that comes out at Kroger! Cool!

And we've got TONS of pics on FB: www.facebook.com/wildbrushstudio

More Than Paint...

These are some of the floral arrangements I've done for friends and family, as well as some decor arranging my mom, sis, and I did at my sister's.

My Personal Art

I just did this for my sis.

Finally finished Callye's painting! I've been thinking about how I wanted to do it for weeks and this is it! I wanted something totally different from her sisters' paintings and decided on a sepia tone, but it has undertones of purples blues and reds in it (just can't see it in this pic, sorry).

I just painted this one of my oldest daughter today. I think I'm finished. Until the next time I walk past it.

This is some of my personal art. It's actually just whatever I don't paint for the studio or the art cards.

I did this graphic below from 8 of my paintings. My photog friend Tony showed me how to use my own art to create the border. Very cool!

I did this elephant piece for a friend and colleague to give as a housewarming. I think she liked it.

This colorful one is hanging above my dining room table. It's 3x5 foot. I love it!

This is the 9x12 inch prototype for the 3x5 foot painting.

I did this wall when my photog friend Tony remodeled his kitchen. He and his better half Celine get alot of comments on it!

I did this of one of my twins. Tony took the photo, I painted the painting. Collaborative art.

These are all three of my girls. They really do look alot better in person (the paintings AND the girls! HA!). They are each 16x20.

Two for the Troops Card Art

I am truly honored to have the opportunity to donate some paintings to a fabulous non-profit organization that sells greeting cards. It works like this:
Two for the Troops is a not-for-profit greeting card company that is dedicated to improving the lives of America's servicemen and women. For every box of Two for the Troops cards that you purchase, you'll receive 11 cards. One of these cards will be prepaid and pre-addressed with an address for an American soldier currently serving our nation, and we encourage you to send a card to him or her. We'll also send a card for every box we sell -- hence, Two for the Troops. All proceeds will go to funding scholarships or producing more cards, all of which will benefit our servicemembers and their families.

My Art for Sippitydoodle

This is a smattering of art I've done for the place where I teach evening painting classes in downtown McKinney. It's called Sippitydoodle, a paint party studio where people can sip and paint and finish a canvas painting ready to hang, in two to three hours. No prior artistic skills are necessary--there's an artist there to show the client where and how to apply the paint to a pre-sketched canvas. Everything is furnished except the beverage of choice--it's a BYOB. I love working there! Check out the website for Sippity...

These next three were some that I did for the express purpose of 'personalizing'. My thought was a client can paint any of the designs and then personalize it for a nursery or kids' room, a gift for a baby shower, etc. I suppose any of the paintings could be personalized, though some lend themselves better than others.

A class of clients did this fleur de lis and each client used a different color palette. They were all so unique and beautiful! I loved that class!

I painted this one with my mom over a few weeks. I like hers better! It worked well for a couple of clients in a class though!

I sold this one at the Artfest downtown a few weeks ago.

I've had three classes painting this one so far!

This also sold at the Artfest downtown.

I painted this to match the decor in my livingroom but it's in an upcoming class.

These next couple are for Doodlebugs, the kids' classes at the studio.
